For more than 40 years, there has been talk in Canada of a museum of Inuit art.

Three years in the making, the Museum of Inuit Art (MIA) at Harbourfront, in downtown Toronto, is Canada’s first public museum south of the Arctic devoted exclusively to Inuit art and culture.

Come see hundreds of works of sculpture carved from stone, antler, ivory and bone as well as innovative pottery, prints, drawings, and wall hangings from the five distinct artistic regions of the Canadian Arctic.

All this in an Award-winning interior, designed to view art in natural sunlight while evoking the drama of ice floes, snow drifts, and the wind swept tundra.
